The Awsaj tree is widespread in most of the wild areas in the Gulf countries, and most of the Nature preserve gardens areas in our beloved country Qatar abound with it. It is found in coastal sandy areas, sedimentary flats, and gravel lands, especially in Najd, the Nafud Desert, Hijaz, and various areas in the south and east of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its leaves are also used as pasture for camels, and deer, and it has common medicinal uses.
